Artist's Statement:
"The photographs in “Puerto York” attempt to capture both the plight and exaltation of the Puerto Rican people, both stateside and on the Island. Our experience is always changing because we go back and forth. Literally and figuratively we travel between two worlds. Puerto Rican mothers, fathers, brothers, sons, daughters, writers, poets, athletes, lawyers, doctors have all confronted and accepted this lot. Unions have been created while barriers have also been raised -- giving this dichotomy a collective soul."
