Artist Statement:
"At night, our ability to see is severely diminished. The nighttime makes us more conscientious to the sounds we hear and the things that move around us. We have the sun to light our days, but depend on artificial light at night. Though we try our best to see through the dark shadows, we can see but so much with those orange-colored sodium vapor street lamps.
The city takes on a different persona during the night. There's even that popular saying that "it never sleeps". It does get pretty quiet! These photographs are an extension of my New York nocturnal series that explores New York City's landscape after sunset. Harlem Nocturnal points specifically to Harlem's landscape.

Definition: Webster's New World Dictionary (Third College Edition)
Noc tur nal 1) of, done or happening in the night 2) functioning or active during the night 3) having blossoms that open at night as some flowers."
