I have begun to realize a (framing) phenomena as it occurs in architecture, using the device of the window to isolate spaces. These fragments are icons, landscapes, cityscapes, portraits: small pieces making a whole. Through this process of fragmentation, the photographic image is more like the process of human sight. We do not see situations as a whole but rather as a summary of a collection of many objects and relationships. |
